How DCG Pro online Works

DCG PRO online is designed for businesses who want the security of getting their data off site to a secure replicated data centre and the confidence that their data is available and protected 24 by 7 by data specialists. 

DCG PRO online backs up data from your distributed servers and laptops over your internet line off site to a replicated DCG Data Centre.  After the first ‘seed’ backup, the technology ensures that only the changes in your files are backed up thereafter.  We will come to site to take a first backup of your data if it is too large for an initial backup over your links.

The Facts

  • There are no limits to the amount of data that DCG PRO online can backup up.
  • DCG PRO online installs a lightweight backup client on your device that you wish to be backed up that looks for new and changed files.
  • Each customer 60 days data retention as well as options for traditional time-based data retention if necessary to their business policy.  Additional options include an onsite disk cache which would provide faster restores in the event of frequent restore requirements.
  • To get individual files back, you simply click on restore, and the file and version you wish to restore, and it is restored back to the original location; or you can create a new folder and restore to that area.
  • If you lost all your data you can perform a full restore over the internet, but this could be time consuming dependent on your data volumes.  In this case DCG would deliver a portable device to your location with your encrypted data on it, and then you could restore from that.
  • Customer data is encrypted with up to 448 bit Military strength based on the blowfish algorithm.  Data is held in a state of the art secure data centre and remains encrypted so that only you can read your data.
  • DCG PRO online is available on a 14 day free trial.  DCG will send you a download and a password, and you then install it on your server or laptop and start trialing the product right away.
